About Hickory Hills

20160120_105212My name is Orin Jackson, and I would like to introduce myself. I am a lifelong native of Kansas City, Missouri, with a career in the construction industry. I have dedicated Hickory Hills Veterans Lodge to helping our brave veterans, and find some way to give back and say “Thank You” for the freedom I enjoy, all because of the sacrifice made every day by the men and women in uniform. The following is a summary mission statement, and the focus of Hickory Hills Veterans Lodge.

Hickory Hills Veterans Lodge is located in NE Missouri in beautiful Sullivan County and is a 501c3 non-profit organization. It is 100 acres of mixed hardwoods with a few small clearings interspersed. The property is located next to Union Ridge State Forest, a Missouri Dep’t of Conservation public use area with 8,997 acres open for recreation. Together this gives Hickory Hills Veterans Lodge limitless opportunities with hunting excursions, and outdoor activities.

After the second gulf war started, watching the soldiers I know leave to fight and return, I saw a need for greater support towards our returning veterans. These returning veterans suffer from combat stress with few means of coping. With the help of some 40 corporations I was able to secure donations and build the new Hickory Hills Veterans Lodge. Veterans can go to Hickory Hills to relax, hunt, fish or just sit and watch time pass, all of which helps with the healing process needed so badly.

As you know, costs associated with building and maintaining a place like Hickory Hills are sometimes beyond belief. I am asking for your generous partnership with this mission of helping our Nation’s finest receive the help and support they deserve. Come join me in showing your support and let’s help our Veterans…Thank You

Respectfully,
Orin Jackson
